Position At FCOB

Elementary Ministry Coordinator

When did you join FCOB Staff?

September 2013

Where did you go to school?

I attended Damascus High School, then graduated  Montgomery College and Frederick Community College with degrees in biology sciences and nursing.

What is your family like?

I am the 2nd of 4 children in my family.  We grew up on a working beef cattle farm that is still an operating farm today.  Growing up I attended First Baptist Church, Damascus.  I met my husband Shawn, in the fall of 1997 and we were married, summer of 2000.  We live in Adamstown, MD with our three children, amazing gifts from God.

Where were you born?

Do you wake up to a CD/playlist, the radio, or a buzzer?

None of these.  I awake to the "MOMMY" call from 3 adorable children who rise early every morning.

Who have you been mistaken for or told you look like?

I used to often be mistaken for Tatiana Burrier and she would often be mistaken for myself.   Tatiana and I are close friends so we often enjoyed a laugh or two when folks would mix us up, especially, if the mix up involved folks pairing us with the wrong spouse.

What is your favorite season?

What is set as the background on your computer?

My favorite family picture.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?  What was it?

July 3rd, 2014, Went to an orthodontist office.

What is your favorite cartoon character & why?

Cinderella!  Cinderella has so many character qualities that I relate too.  Her hard life and hard work ultimately end with great reward, the reward of receiving everything she could ever dream of.  I guess in a strange way, the plot of her story to me, represents the life of a Christian; being criticized, working to the very end, serving others, until one day we will receive our transformation and heavenly crown in the greatest Kingdom we could ever dream of.

When you were in grade school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A bus driver

Name one way you have seen God working at FCOB recently.

God has laid it upon the Children's Ministry staff to teach the ABC's of becoming a Christian.  Most recently, children were asked to fill in a card indicating weather they had made a profession of faith, were interesting in talking to an adult about making that decision, or were still wanting to learn more about what it means to become a Christian.  Upon reviewing the children's responses, it was amazing to see God working in the lives of the children who attend fcobkids.  When I see children with such faith, I am reminded that I too should have "child-like" faith.
