The Gospel According to Isaiah
Why do we read so often from the book of Isaiah during Advent? Simply, because in it, God
spoke through Isaiah of the hope of the gospel that came to earth in Jesus Christ. And it is that
incarnation that we celebrate each Christmas season. Isaiah was the prophet of hope and new
beginnings. He conveyed God’s compassion, mercy, comfort, and consolation for His people—
but also for mankind throughout the world—ultimately demonstrated in the gift of His Son.
Join us each Sunday during advent, as God speaks through His prophet and prepares us for the
coming of our Lord and Savior—Jesus.
