our story

In the early 1960’s the Frederick Church of the Brethren expanded its space by creating the current educational wing which is currently used as Sunday School and Learning Center classrooms. Ruth Hubbel was the church member most involved in the planning and arranging of the Sunday School rooms for which she was given much credit and thanks.
Over the years, many educators have played an integral part in the success of the Learning Center such as Pat Linehan, Pat Wallace, Corbin Bettencourt and Virginia Schartner.
In 2012, COBLC was awarded MSDE accreditation and has maintained the prestigious accreditation ever since.
After teaching at the school for 9 years, Mrs. Jenny Shively became the current Director in December 2015. Currently the staff of 14 teaches 14 classes in 6 different classrooms.

Not only do our students leave our school well prepared academically, but also with a strong foundation of faith and love for Jesus Christ.
