OVER 40 YEARS OF FELLOWSHIP AND PROCLAIMING THE LOVE OF CHRIST
You may have just discovered the Deaf Fellowship, but we’ve been a part of your community for over 40 years! We were established in 1971, when three Deaf families and a hearing pastor gathered to dream of a ministry that could reach Deaf people in Frederick. Since then, we’ve been providing a practical, Christ-centered witness to the Deaf community of Frederick and mid-Maryland.
Our vision is simple: We will increase the number of Deaf people welcoming Jesus Christ into their lives by providing a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth and biblical outreach. Deaf Fellowship started out as an interpreted ministry and now it has grown to become a “church within a church” – maintaining its sense of close community and Deaf culture, while cherishing its supportive partnership with the greater FCOB family.
Today, we have a full-time pastor who works along with a multitude of people who serve the Lord, the church family and the Deaf community through local, national and international outreach; active worship; Bible teaching; dynamic adult small bible study groups; Sunday School classes for children and adults; and pastoral counseling – all in American Sign Language (ASL). At Deaf Fellowship, we’re all about community. We invite you to become a part of our community to experience, perhaps for the first time, the love and promise that Jesus Christ has – especially for you!
We are a church who believes that God can change lives—that life with Jesus Christ means a second chance to experience real life both now and for eternity. The Bible tells us how that can happen, which is why we are so passionate about it! We study it, discuss it, and live by it through His grace.
If you are looking for a church home, or you’re just beginning to wonder about God, let us encourage you! Join us for worship, visit a small bible study group, check out one of our events, or just talk with some of our people. You are truly welcome here!
