The Sermon on the Mount is probably the best known section of the entire Bible. And yet it is one of the least understood parts of the teaching of Jesus Christ. As Sinclair Ferguson writes: “It is not a sermon about an ideal life in an ideal world, but about the kingdom life in a fallen world.”
According to Jesus, what does kingdom life look like? It’s a radically different life that is “upside down” from the world’s values and philosophies. And yet it is one that God blesses as it is lived out among His people.
